Human Trafficking - Which Michigan Optometrists Need to Know

Course Description: This course meets the State of Michigan requirement (R 338.303 effective December 21, 2016) that requires training for healthcare providers on recognizing the signs of human trafficking. This course will inform attendees on all aspects of human trafficking including: the definition and types of human trafficking; the scope of the problem in Michigan and the U.S. and common venues where trafficking occurs. Information provided will enable optometrists to identify victims of human trafficking by recognizing common warning signs and review the legal obligations to report or intervene on behalf of suspect victims.
